Data we collect
When you submit the Connect form, we collect the information you provide:
- Name;
- Organization, when provided;
- Email address; and
- Project scope or other enquiry details.
Our hosting environment may also process ordinary technical records required to deliver and secure the website, such as request time, requested page, browser information, and network address.
Purpose and legal basis
We use form information to review and respond to your enquiry, route it to the appropriate corporate, support, legal, publishing, or engineering contact, maintain a record of the communication, protect the website, and establish or defend legal rights where necessary.
Under Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, we collect information lawfully and fairly for purposes directly related to our corporate activities and limit use to those purposes or directly related purposes. Where another applicable law requires a separate lawful-basis analysis, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to and administering genuine enquiries, steps requested before entering a contract, and compliance with legal obligations. We do not rely on consent as the ordinary basis for responding to the form.
Supplying your name, email address, and enquiry details is voluntary, but we cannot respond without them. Organization is optional.
Email and hosting providers
Form submissions are transmitted through the WordPress website environment to GameTree's corporate email system. Contracted website-hosting, infrastructure, security, backup, and email-delivery providers may process the information on our behalf and under our instructions.
We disclose only the information necessary for those providers to perform their services. We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, court order, or a competent authority.
Retention
Routine enquiry records are retained for no longer than 24 months after the last substantive communication. Records connected with an active contract, payment, dispute, rights matter, security incident, or legal obligation may be retained for the longer period required to administer that matter and satisfy applicable limitation and record-keeping requirements.
We delete or anonymize personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legal preservation requirements and proportionate backup cycles.
International transfers
Our service providers and authorized personnel may process information outside Hong Kong. Where information is transferred internationally, we use contractual, organizational, and technical measures intended to preserve a level of protection appropriate to the information and applicable law.
Your rights
You may ask whether we hold personal data about you and request access to or correction of that data. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may also have rights to request deletion or restriction, object to processing, or receive a portable copy.
